GCSE RESULTS 2016
Swadelands School are celebrating a positive set of GCSE results with 39% of our students achieving A*-C passes in both English and Mathematics. 93 students sat examinations with a 47% A*-C pass rate overall; of these 62% of students achieved A* to C in English, exceeding the national figure of 60%.
Of note were Amy Hodgson securing A and B grades in all subjects, including A* in Maths, and Luke Smith, Lucy Jones, James Cooper and Iona Hogg who achieved at least 7 A* to B grades. Of the 39 students taking statistics, 82% achieved A* to C; 83% of students entered for Art and 78% entered for the IT qualification achieved this threshold.
A LEVEL RESULTS 2016
Swadelands Sixth Form is celebrating a very successful A Level results day. Year 13 students achieved the best results in the school’s history with 94% of students achieving at least one A* or A grade, 88% gaining one A* and over 70% of students being awarded two A* grades. Notable successes include Kate Furmidge who was celebrating Triple Distinction* in Sport and Distinction* in Science whilst Lydia Day and Kellen Blackwell also achieved Triple Distinction* in Sport. Reece Fagg was rewarded with Distinction* in all three of the subjects he studied and Will Somers and Sonny Watch were awarded Distinction* in ICT and Business Studies. The excellent results have allowed students to gain University places in both the UK and USA to study a variety of courses such as Sport and Journalism.
Head of School Mr Chris Foreman said that this year’s results are a testament to the hard work and dedication shown by both students and staff.
